Messier 97 - the Owl Nebula

AKA: NGC 3587 | PN G148.4+57.0, J2000 RA: 11h14m47.801s, Dec: +55°01m10.22s, Mag: 9.9, Distance: 797 pc, Size: 3.4x3.3 arc min, Type: !PN.

On a night of glorious seeing a long time ago, I was mesmerized by both this nebula and it's neighboring galaxy M108. The view through my telescope was very similar to what is presented here. On subsequent visits, I have not been so lucky, and this nebula is harder to see. But I continually return hoping for a repeat of that magical night!
