Messier 32

AKA: NGC 221 | UGCA 452 | PGC 2555, J2000 RA: 00h42m41.85s, Dec: +40°51m51.8s, Mag: 8.1, Distance: 765 kpc, Size: 8x6 arc min, Type: cE2.

This is a companion galaxy to mighty M31. It is small yet bright enough for most amateur telescopes. It shows as a slightly elongated fuzzy ball in my telescope. The actual classification of M32 is that of an elliptical galaxy. It and M110 are the closest elliptical galaxies to Earth and therefore are of great interest for study.
